At just 23 years old, Urooj Ashfaq has already made a name for herself as a rising star in the comedy scene. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Urooj balances her passions as both a writer and comedian. Her journey into comedy began on an unexpected note, sparked by a less-than-stellar academic performance in school. In a candid interview, Urooj recalled feeling like she needed to pivot and try something new. It was a friend's suggestion that led her to take the stage at an open mic event at the Canvas Laugh Club in Mumbai back in June 2016. Since then, Urooj has gone on to claim top spots in several stand-up comedy competitions, showcasing her quick wit and sharp humor.
