Her early start in the industry began with collaborating with renowned composer Ilayaraja on the acclaimed film Anjali, where she not only lent her voice to the Hindi version but also re-dubbed for the lead child character. Pandit's professional journey gained momentum when she worked with Yash Raj Films on the project Mohabbatein, released in 2000, singing five songs at the tender age of 14. Two years later, at 16, she released her debut album Main Zindagi Hoon with EMI Virgin Records, India, earning her the distinction of being one of India's youngest pop stars. Her contributions to the film industry have been recognized with prestigious awards, including a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her work on the Telugu film Kotha Bangaru Lokam, specifically for the song Nenani Neevani in 2009.
