Born into a family with a strong appreciation for music, Rajesh's early life was marked by exposure to the art form. His parents, Dasappan and Nirmala, encouraged his interest, and his cousin Shaji played a pivotal role in nurturing his innate musical talent. Shaji introduced Rajesh to the basics of flute playing, which laid the foundation for his future success. As a child, Rajesh performed with various musical troupes in Kerala, honing his skills and developing a passion for music that would stay with him throughout his life. His breakthrough came with an early recording in Ernakulam, produced by the renowned classical violinist Sri. Thiruvizha Ullas. This marked the beginning of his journey as a prominent flute player in the South Indian music landscape. Since then, he has not only established himself as one of the most sought-after flutists in the industry but has also lent his talents to over 300 films, with an impressive catalog of more than 1,000 songs. Rajesh's contributions to the music world have been acknowledged by various institutions, earning him recognition and prestigious accolades.
