Kavita Krishnamurti

With a career spanning decades, Kavita Krishnamurti has become an iconic figure in the Indian music landscape. Having recorded an impressive 50,000 songs in 45 different Indian languages, her talent and versatility are undeniable. Born with a passion for music, Krishnamurti took a bold step at the age of 14, moving to Bombay to pursue her dreams of becoming a playback singer in the Hindi film industry. While attending St. Xavier College, she landed her first major opportunity, recording a song for the 1971 Bengali film Shriman Prithviraj alongside the legendary Lata Mangeshkar. Her professional journey as a singer began in earnest with the 1976 film Kadambari, where she had the chance to work with renowned composer Vilayat Khan. Over the years, Krishnamurti has taken her unique fusion sound to audiences worldwide, touring extensively across the globe, including the US, UK, UAE, Europe, Africa, Australia, East Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
