Kanan Gill

Kanan Gill, an engineer turned comedian from Uttar Pradesh, has carved a niche for himself in the Indian stand-up comedy scene. Born into a household of Navy Officers, Gill's background laid the foundation for his unique blend of wit and humor. Prior to diving into comedy full-time, he worked as a software engineer and even had a stint in a musical band, where he wrote and performed humorous songs. Gill's transition to comedy was marked by his triumph in the Punch Line Bangalore Competition, which served as a catalyst for his professional career. Alongside Biswa Kalyan Rath, he co-created Pretentious Movie Reviews, a YouTube show that not only gained popularity but also allowed the duo to hone their comedic skills. This successful collaboration propelled Gill to become one of India's most recognizable faces in the stand-up comedy circuit. A seasoned performer with over a thousand shows under his belt, Gill has successfully toured globally with his solo acts, including Feeling with Kanan and All Correct Opinions. His latest comedy special, Keep It Real, received widespread critical acclaim, solidifying his reputation as a skilled comedian. In addition to stand-up, Gill has also ventured into format comedy, exploring different aspects of the genre. Gill's foray into the world of Bollywood began with his debut in the 2017 film Noor, followed by the launch of his Amazon Video series Keep It Real. He has also served as a judge on Comicstaan, a popular comedy platform that brings together talented comedians and industry experts.
