About the Artist
Fossils' Journey Began in the City of Joy Hailing from Kolkata, Fossils emerged as a pioneering force in the Indian rock scene in the year 2000. The band's unique blend of difficult rock and psychedelic sounds set them apart from their contemporaries. In 2008, Fossils made waves in the music industry when they graced the pages of Rolling Stones India magazine, solidifying their reputation as one of the most exciting acts to come out of the city. Their sophomore effort, Fossils 2, released in 2004, holds the distinction of being the most expensive Bengali band album to date. This impressive feat speaks to the band's dedication to their craft and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of Indian music. In 2006, Fossils released their third studio album, Mission F, which became the official soundtrack for the first Kolkata Police Friendship Cup Football Tournament. The album includes a poignant tribute to those living with HIV, 'Aeka Nauo', a powerful track featuring the legendary Usha Uthup.
