About the Artist

Ajay-Atul, a sibling duo, has emerged as a driving force in the music industry, leaving an indelible mark on both Marathi and Hindi cinema. Their musical journey began during their school days, when they developed a passion for music that eventually led them to experiment with various forms. Although their family didn't directly encourage their musical pursuits, they didn't discourage them either. This freedom allowed the brothers to learn and grow through their experiences. They befriended musicians who owned instruments like harmoniums and dhol, which they couldn't afford at the time. This exposure helped shape their musical style and skills. Their big break came with the international non-film album Vishwavinayaka, which opened doors to the Indian music industry. The duo then worked on numerous commercial jingles, ballets, and advertisements to establish their presence. Their work on Naṭarang showcased their ability to blend traditional Marathi folk music with modern sounds. Ajay-Atul's filmography includes composing music for Hindi movies like Singham, Bol Bachchan, Agneepath, and Brothers. They also contributed to the soundtrack of the Aamir Khan-starrer PK. In 2016, they collaborated with Nagraj Manjule on the critically acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. The movie's soundtrack, particularly the song Zingaat, has become synonymous with the duo's signature style. This iconic track has cemented their reputation as one of the most renowned music duos in the industry.
